Three Sentenced In Lamar County, AL Murder Trial

Vernon, Ala. (WCBI) – Three people are sentenced in a Lamar County, Alabama murder trial.

Henry Crenshaw was killed at his Beaverton home in March 2012.

District Attorney Chris McCool says Sandra Hawkins was sentenced to 20 years in prison for stabbing Crenshaw.

Ellis Squier accepted a plea deal to testify against Hawkins. Squier was sentenced to time served, about two years, and five years probation.

Meanwhile, Angel O’Mary also accepted a plea deal to testify. She was sentenced to time served, about a year in jail, and five years probation.

Crenshaw’s family tells WCBI they wanted to see all three sentenced to the same amount of time for the crime and weren’t happy with the sentence.

McCool says the best sentence was handed down with the evidence available.
