Three Separate Cases End in Guilty Pleas in Webster Co.

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. – (PRESS RELEASE) Three people in three separate case enter guilty pleas and sentenced in Webster Circuit Court Tuesday.

Tyler Miller was sentenced to 10 years for Automotive Theft. The crime was committed when Mr. Miller stole a gas powered golf cart. Mr. Miller was also out on probation at the time the crime was committed.

Robert Hutchens was sentenced to 20 years for Burglary of three residences. Two of the homes were located in the Cadareta Community of Webster County and the third was located in Choctaw County.

Kanisha Mays was sentenced to 35 years for 1 count Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Kidnapping, 1 count of Felony Fleeing in a motor vehicle, and 1 count Intimidating a witness. All counts received different sentences but were all run congruent with the armed robbery charge. The crimes were committed in Eupora when Ms. Mays robbed at knife point one of the local business. She was out on bond when she went to the home of the victim of the armed robbery and held at gun point and knife point three victims.

The reason for the kidnapping was an attempt to force the victim to drop the armed robbery charge. From that point Ms. Mays lead Eupora Police Dept, who was first on scene, Webster Sheriff’s Dept., and other agencies on a high speed pursuit through the city of Eupora and Webster County before comming to a stop at a road block and giving up.
All of Ms. Mays crimes took place in April of 2013
