Skies will begin mostly cloudy for most of you on Thursday, but only a few showers are expected throughout the morning. There is a risk of freezing rain and/or sleet in the northern part of MS through early morning.
Rain will be around I-55 by early afternoon and move to the east through the remainder of the afternoon and evening. Places near the MS/AL state line may not get the rain until late afternoon.
Some data this morning suggest that rain won’t be quite as widespread as we were originally thinking, but we still expect most if not all of you to see some wet weather later on today.
Fortunately for us, the risk of severe storms is also looking much lower. Some areas will see heavy rain later today, and there may be a few strong storms, but we don’t expect widespread strong storms. The ingredients for that are looking better for Southwest MS and Louisiana.
Some rain may linger in the southern part of the WCBI viewing area Friday, and this coming weekend is currently forecast to have lots of sun!
