Thursday Evening North Mississippi Power Outage Update

(Press release from Electric Power Associations of Mississippi)

Electric power associations continue the task of restoring power to electric meters affected by the recent winter storms. After reaching a peak of more than 32,000 outages, some 19,400 remain without electric service. Emergency crews from across the state joined local workers immediately following the storm and will remain in the areas until all power is restored. Additional crews were added to the work force today.
In the aftermath of a winter storm, restoration efforts are challenging as crews restore power to an area while losing power in another area. It is projected all power will be restored by Friday evening.
