One more dry day before a cold front & tropical moisture moves in Friday night. Some of us could indeed see more than 2″ of rain by the end of Saturday. High school football games will be dicey regarding rain chances. Take the rain gear with you just in case.
Thursday: Partly cloudy and warm conditions continue. Afternoon temperatures will top out right around 90 with southeast winds up to 10mph.
Thursday Night: Skies will be partly cloudy and lows should be in the mid 60s.
Friday: We’ll have a dry start to the day but showers and storm chances will increase during the late afternoon and evening hours. The latest data suggest that the best chance of rain will come after high school football but that’s not certain. Keep your fingers crossed! Highs will be in the upper 80s.
Saturday: Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely. Areas of heavy rain are possible and some locations may see over 2″ of rain. Skies will be mostly cloudy and high temperatures may struggle to get out of the upper 70s. Drier conditions should begin to take over by the time the games kickoff in Starkville and Tuscaloosa.
Sunday (First Day of Fall Y’all!): Fall begins at 3:44 PM. And no doubt it will feel every bit of Fall! Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s and feeling great courtesy of the front on Saturday.
