Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrests

WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – Trying to throw drugs and a gun from their van didn’t work for two West Point men.

West Point Police say a routine traffic stop led to the arrest of Joshua Karriem and Travis Morris on cocaine and weapons possession charges. When the officer tried to stop them, he saw items being thrown from the passenger side of the their van. After it stopped, other officers found a gun and cocaine on the ground nearby. Karriem is charged as a prior convicted felon. Morris, the driver, also faces resisting arrest and other charges after he struggled with officers.
