Skies will be partly cloudy on Tuesday and highs will be in the upper 80s to around 90. That summertime mugginess will be present as well. There could be a few stray afternoon showers and storms out and about, especially in counties along/near I-55. The chance of rain remains low at 30%.
A line of storms will approach our area Tuesday night, but we think it will be in a weakening phase by the time it gets here. The best chance of severe weather will be just off to our west, but we’ll have to watch it. Hail and high wind gusts will be the two biggest threats.
Scattered storms will remain possible all day Wednesday, and highs will be in the low to mid 80s.
A few lingering showers and storms are possible on Thursday, but it looks like drier air will overtake the region starting Friday. At this point things look pretty good for the weekend and Memorial Day.
