Tupelo Accepts Throws, Blankets for Christmastime Donations

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Tupelo city employees had a chance to give back to the community and also see a Nascar vehicle up close.

The Tupelo Human Resources Department sponsored what it is calling “Throwback Thursday.” A booth was set up in the City Hall parking lot, where municipal employees were encouraged to bring a throw or blanket to donate to individuals in need.

There were several other booths and attractions set up, such as Chick-fil-A, and the AFLAC Nascar was also on display. Onlookers could climb in the car and turn it on, but individuals were not allowed to drive it.

All of the blankets and throws will be donated to people throughout the area through the Christmas season.
