TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – It was a day of celebration for Tupelo’s White Hill Missionary Baptist Church. The congregation moved into a new 40,000 square foot sanctuary on Eason Boulveard.

The church sits on 17 acres with plenty of room for expansion.

The building program ran into several obstacles , such as a wetlands issue, but Pastor Jeffrey Daniel says the struggles only made the congregation draw closer together.

“A great deal of the members and some of the people in the community were expressing its good to see a predominantly black church to build something this size and of this magnitude,” Daniel said. “We hope that it inspires others to do more if they desire to do it, it can be done.”

White Hill Missionary Baptist Church was formed in 1908. This is its fourth location in the Tupelo area.
