Tupelo Hires New Development Services Direc.

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) –  The City of Tupelo has a new man in charge of the city’s development services department. Council members voted unanimously Tuesday to hire 44 year old Shane Hooper for the top spot. Hooper will be responsible for planning, code enforcement, issues regarding land use and regulation as well as focus on economic development. The position will pay $73,000 a year. Councilmen Jim Newell and Mike Bryan did not attend the meeting.

Former Director B.J. Teal resigned in October over differences with Mayor Jason Shelton.
