TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — The Tupelo Police Department (TPD) has charged two men in connection with a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said an argument Wednesday at Hillsdale Apartments allegedly led to shots fired. The unidentified victim was reportedly shot in the abdomen. The victim was in critical condition as of yesterday.

According to a release provided by the TPD, Tupelo men 18-year-old Tiuntae Dixon and 32-year-old Jeremy Merideth were arrested in connection with the incident.

Dixon was arrested at a residence in Aberdeen. Authorities detained Merideth after discovering him at a Tupelo hotel.

The operation was conducted in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Both men were charged with aggravated assault; bond has not been set for either.
