Tupelo Seeks Tourism Leadership Applicants

TUPELO, Miss—The Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau is accepting applications for its 2013-2014 Tourism Leadership Program. Designed to create a core of knowledgeable people with a unique, first-hand experience of the vast components of Tupelo’s tourism product, the program is open to anyone working in the hospitality industry.

“The Tourism Leadership Program helps educate members of the hospitality industry and our partners on all aspects of tourism in Tupelo,” said Neal McCoy, Tupelo Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director. “We already have 30 program graduates who are brand ambassadors for Tupelo, and we look forward to sharing Tupelo’s tourism product with the next class of tourism leaders.”

The six month program, which runs December 2013 through May 2014, will include one full day per month comprised of unique experiences and special presentations to grow participant’s awareness of the tourism industry in Tupelo and our region. Meetings will be held the second Wednesday of each month, and those selected to participate are expected to attend each session. The sessions will equip participants with practical tools that can be implemented in their workplace to help them to grow their careers. They will also have the unique opportunity to network and bond with fellow class members through participation.
