Video: Tupelo’s Indoor Pool Opens

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The forty degree Monday did not stop people in Tupelo from taking a dip in their new indoor pool.

The city’s new aquatics center held a “First Splash” event.

Mayor Jason Shelton and the city’s former mayor, Jack Reed, Jr. jumped in first.

In addition to a competitive pool, the facility features a warm water pool for senior aquatics, school children, and babies and a patio area for the warmer months.

Mayor Shelton said, “It will be a huge draw to the city and we feel it will be a boost to the economy and increase the quality of life in Tupelo.”

The aquatics center will host an official grand opening this Saturday.
