Tuscaloosa K9 Camp Will Surrender 72 Dogs

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ala. (WCBI)-A drug investigation leads to an animal cruelty case.

Last month law enforcement with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department raided the owner of Tuscaloosa K9 Camp’s property.

The deputies had initially gone to the property to serve warrants in a drug investigation.

But upon arrival saw potential animal cruelty and returned to the property the next day with warrants.

20 dogs were seized from the camp and now the remaining 72 will be surrendered by property owner Heather Litz.

Litz, her parents, and another trainer are charged with 20 counts of Animal Cruelty.

Litz says the animals had been brought to her in poor condition and she became over whelmed with the dogs and their medical needs.
