Two Arrested For Trying To Steal Guns

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) – On March 13, 2015 at 11:05 a.m., the Columbus Police received a report of two suspects attempting to shoplift two (2) firearms from a business located in the 2000 block of Hwy 45 North in Columbus. Store employees were able to detain one suspect on the scene while patrol officers searched for the second suspect. Investigators were able to identify the second suspect later that day and recover both weapons. Both suspects were convicted felons who were on parole with the MS Dept of Corrections. Charged were:

Quincy Antonio Beard (23yoa)

1814 11 Avenue North

Columbus, MS

Charged with : Possession of a Firearm by a Felon & Felony Shoplifting

Bond was set at $7,500 by Municipal Court Judge Marc Amos

Shamor Lidell Billups (23yoa)

2108 College St.

Columbus, MS

Charged with : Possession of a Firearm by a Felon & Felony Shoplifting

Bond was set at $7,500 by Municipal Court Judge Marc Amos
