UPDATE – Two Die In Northwest Alabama Crash

RED BAY, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say two people have been killed in a head-on collision in northern Alabama.

WHNT-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1D0t23i) that the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in Franklin County. It happened near Alabama 24 and County Road 247, just outside Red Bay.

The television station reports that County Road 247 was closed for several hours during the night while authorities investigated the crash.

Alabama state troopers say 73 year old Jimmy Stanphill of Golden, MS and 20 yer old Maliaka Humphrey of Vina, Alabama died when Stanphills car collided with Humphreys  just after 8 last night.
