Two Killed on State Roadways During Winter Storm Period

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – This week’s Winter Storm has been keeping state law enforcement busy.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol answered over 200 calls for assistance, and worked one hundred and fifty wrecks, including 2 fatalities, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Troopers from Starkville’s Troop G handled 27 wrecks along state roadways. Troop F out of New Albany turned out for 31 during the same period.

Troop C reported 39 wrecks, including two fatalities in Hinds and Simpson Counties. Greenville’s Troop D reported 23 accidents, while Troop E responded to 16. Troop H out of Meridian worked 14 accidents.
