Two Ole Miss Students Die after Crash

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Two Ole Miss students are dead after a head on collision Saturday morning in Lafayette County.

The accident happened around 11 Saturday morning.

According to Lafayette County Coroner Rocky Kennedy, 23 year old Sarah Wheat and her brother 30 year old John Wheat died after a car crossed the median on Highway 6 and struck them head on.

The accident happened just west of the Highway 7 overpass.

Sarah was pronounced dead on the scene her brother John later died after being flown to Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

The name or condition of the driver who crossed the median is not being released at this time.
