A line of showers and thunderstorms continues to head our way this morning. This line will be moving from west to east across North Mississippi throughout the morning and mid afternoon. Right now there aren’t any active tornado watches or severe thunderstorm watches in effect. However, we’ll be watching this line very closely for any strong storms to develop. Otherwise heavy downpours and gusty winds will be the main threat across the area today. We will see some areas get between 1-2 inches of rain but could see some of us could get more than than 2.5″ of rain. This may prompt more flash flood warnings as the system develops. Morning temperature will be around 70.
This afternoon temperatures will be in the middle to upper 60s area wide. Most of the rain will be out of here by the 5 PM drive home. We may even see a little sunshine as the sun sets around 7:30p.
Friday through the weekend is looking fantastic! Mostly sunny skies for Friday with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Overnight lows will be on the cool side…we’re talking lower 40s! Come Saturday, highs will be a tad bit higher. We are expecting mid 70s with sunny skies and overnight lows in the 50s area wide. Next chance of rain comes Sunday, mainly for those of us who live south of Highway 82.
