“Communication is critical in times of emergency so we’re making sure our community stays connected,” said Lori Singleton, district manager for Verizon Wireless in Tupelo. “Verizon’s network performance is strong. This is one of the benefits of our $9.4 billion investment into our wireless network each year. You can’t afford to lose communication in times like these.”

Verizon added capacity to its network to allow for the increased wireless traffic that occurs during and after an emergency. In a disaster when call volumes are high, customers are always encouraged to use text messaging to communicate.
