Verona Score Perfect for Drinking Water
VERONA, Miss. (WCBI) – The Mississippi Department of Health gives Verona a perfect score for its drinking water.
It’s the first time in recent history the city has received such a high score. The MDH scores drinking water systems on a 5 point scale, 5 being the best score. In 2012 the city scored a 3.7 before that it had never scored better than a 3.
Recently all water meters were replaced giving more accurate readings. City officials say, the city was missing out on revenue with the old meters.
The $280,000 project is expected to pay for itself in three years.
