TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — There were many Easter celebrations across Northeast Mississippi, Saturday.

In Tupelo, 300 runners gathered at Robins Field for the fourth annual Resurrection Run.

The 5K run and walk was to raise money for First Baptist Church’s various missions projects.

They believe moving the event to the historic Highland Park area of Tupelo was an important change from their original location.

“The first year we had it at a church,” said Pastor Chad Grayson. “We started at our church. But we want to be a church of the community so that’s why we’re down here at Robins Field. We want to open it up to the community. We’re going to share the gospel of Jesus.”

First Baptist Church will have a resurrection sunrise service at Robins Field beginning at 7 a.m.
