LEE COUNTY, MISS. (WCBI) – Lee County supervisors now have a price tag for a new jail. An architect told supervisors on Monday that a new jail will cost about $19 millions to build. That estimate includes furnishing the jail. The current jail suffers from overcrowding. The new facility would replace the 18 year-old jail. Sheriff Jim Johnson and supervisors hope to work out a location and master plan by next year.
