Video: A Sign of Recovery in Tupelo: Outback Reopens

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A well known restaurant damaged in last week’s tornado is open for business once again in Tupelo.Outback Restaurant opened its doors Wednesday afternoon, nine days after it was in the path of a tornado.  The restaurant on North Gloster had damage to its roof,  the air conditioning unit was destroyed and had to be replaced.There was also some minor damage to the interior, but crews began working right away and Outback employees also pitched in.

“The support we received has been absolutely phenomenal and the city of Tupelo has been amazing,  with all volunteers coming around and helping, we never had to buy lunch ,  or work out details in midst of all tragedy, people were walking around handing out food, bottled water ,  it was really something.”

Waller points out that all local employees were able to continue working, either at the local restaurant, or at a Jackson area Outback.
