ABERDEEN, Miss. – (WCBI) A $175,000 investment is paying off in long-term savings and improved convenience for Aberdeen residents.

The city purchased the old International Tractor dealership on Highway 145 for $150,000 last year and spent about $25,000 turning it into a central headquarters street, sanitation, water and public works employees who had been spread out in buildings across town. The city already is seeing savings on everything from utilities and phones to insurance.

“We should be able to save the money. We should be able to operate more efficient, and we should be able to go forward and save our taxpayers money. That’s the main thing here,” says Mayor Cecil Belle.

The city held an official ribbon cutting for the new office Thursday.
