[bitsontherun PoBmHnbA]TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – As crews made last minute preparations for opening night of Monster Jam, about 30 youngsters from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi painted anti-bullying messages on an old Ford Taurus.

This field trip gives the young people a chance to see Monster Trucks up close, and also to meet Pablo Huffaker, driver of the world renowned Grave Digger.

“It’s a very good program, the stomp out bullying and for those guys to paint a car up bring it out here, for the show, I’m going to crush a car, in honor of them and stomping out bullying,” Huffaker said.

Boys and Girls Club members were also able to write out personal messages about the harmful effects of bullying.

“Said we need to stomp out bullying cause it hurts people, some people don’t want to be messed with,” said Anthony Toliver who was reflecting on his message.

“People shouldn’t be bullying , because it hurts people and people won’t like it if somebody bullies them also,” said Jahiem Allen.

These kids said it was an honor to stand against bullying, and they also enjoyed talking to Grave Digger’s driver about all things relating to Monster Trucks.

“It’s a full tube chassis underneath a fiberglass body, the engines are 1500 horsepower, blown injected alcohol, big block motors, tires are 66 x 34 x 25 tall, means tire is about 5 and a half feet tall and weigh about 750 pounds at a cost of almost $4,000 for tire and wheel.”

What do you think about the monster trucks? “I want one,”  “They’re awesome,” said Machaiah Adams.

Unlike another popular sport, Monster Jam events and races are not determined, you never know what’s going to happen , but be sure and bring ear protection, it gets pretty loud.

Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam takes place Friday evening and there are two shows on Saturday.
