Video: Afternoon Fire at Columbus Business Yields more Smoke than Damage

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A fire briefly sends thick black smoke pouring over Columbus’ Southside shortly after 2 this afternoon. But the fire at the Waste Pro processing center in the 1600 block of 12th Avenue South caused little damage to the facility. A spark of some kind ignited some oil and tires piled behind a shop area, sending flames shooting up the side and interior of the metal building. Columbus firefighters quickly knocked the fire down and limited the damage.
