TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Saint Louis based airline has made its pitch to provide commercial air service in Tupelo. This morning, the CEO of “Air Choice One” spoke to officials with the airport, the airport authority board and others. “Air Choice One” would fly between Tupelo and Memphis, and may also incorporate Nashville into the mix. The airline offers the single engine turbo prop Cessna Grand Caravan, with executive seating. The company has been in business for more than 30 years.
“We get totally involved, feet on the street, we attend community events as well as joining all the local chambers and economic development areas we need to participate in to show we want to be part of the community right out of the gate.”

“We’re talking about changing type of service provided at the airport , there’s a change in aircraft, change in how procedures are done in flying and with that, comes community involvement and explanation in selling the product.”

On Wednesday, SeaPort Airlines will make its presentation. Sun Air has cancelled its pitch, but is still in the running. The airlines are bidding for the service after silver Airways said earlier this year it would not renew its contract in Tupelo under the Essential Air Service program.
