FULTON, Miss. (WCBI) — Starting Friday, Fulton residents will be able to pick up a bottle of wine or a six pack for those holiday parties. The city’s alcohol ordinance goes into effect tomorrow. Businesses with special permits will be able to sell beer, light wine, or liquor.

Voters approved the measure in October, and the Board of Alderman put regulations in place late last month. Beer will be available seven days a week. Liquor will be available Monday through Saturday. Businesses that plan to serve beer and liquor must make 50 percent of their sales from food.

As of this week, two stores in Fulton have applied for permits to sell beer.
