AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Next year’s top graduates from Amory High School will have to take tougher courses to earn their rankings. Students who take advanced placement and dual college credit courses will be given extra credit toward honors designations like Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Previously, the school worked on a simple 4 point scale that did not distinguish between course difficulty. The new rules take effect with next year’s graduating class.

The district also is expanding its advanced placement and dual credit courses next year to give students more opportunities for advanced study.
