The team competed against 100 different teams throughout the U.S. in the Nations Finals of the Team American Rocketry Challenge in Washington, D.C.

Eight students built and designed a model rocket that travels 825 feet in the air and back within 50 seconds while carrying two raw eggs.

one student remembers the moment when they announced the winners.

“We were really surprised because we were kind of worried cause we had one of the higher scores when we went into the second round and then when they announced tenth place we were all like oh my gosh did we really do that,” says Megan Greenhill.

The winning team will travel to the international competition in England this July.
