AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — It now looks like it could be late July or August before Amory voters get a chance to decide if the town should allow beer and alcohol sales. An organizer with Citizens for the Economic Development of Amory says the group hopes to submit a petition to city leaders by the second week of June calling for a wet/dry referendum. The group needs nearly 1,000 signatures to call for a vote. Supporters are verifying signatures they have while seeking more before turning them in to the city.
