MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Monroe County authorities searched the water along the Lowndes/Monroe County line for a man who’s been missing since early April. Monroe county Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WCBI he believes two people may be involved in William Harold Wright’s disappearance.

“We do have two strong suspects that we’re looking at in Lowndes County, very strongly. We’re investigating them and also the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department is investigating them also,” said Sheriff Cantrell.

Monroe and Lowndes County investigators used sonar equipment to see if they could identify anything in the quarry.

“We have a boat, a search boat. We have sonar equipment on that boat. And what it does is it goes down and it detects any kind of object, metal or whatever that would really give us some good leads and evidence for Mr. Harold Wright,” said Cantrell.

Meanwhile, Wright’s family has increased the reward, hoping anyone with information will come forward.

“We do know the family is offering a $20,000 reward for any leads or any evidence. We’re trying to see if we could find anything that could bring closure to Mr. Harold Wright’s family,” said Cantrell.

Monroe and Lowndes County investigators ask anyone who might have information on Wright’s disappearance to call them.
