LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — After last week’s tornado, many folks are still housed in temporary shelters. The American Red Cross has set up a shelter at the First Baptist Church and are working with families to find long term housing. Families are finding it challenging to remain in Winston County and find affordable housing. Red Cross officials say they are using every resource to help and that partnering with the community is key to getting people into new homes.

Site director, Angie Grajeda said, “We’re getting a lot of people that are calling saying they have units available or they have a home that they don’t stay in all the time, that they would be happy to rent to somebody. So we’re collecting that information and sharing it with those individuals that we’re case managing and trying to connect the resources with the people.”

Louisville Mayor Will Hill also says they are working with FEMA and still gathering information about the number of housing units needed.
