TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Motorcyclists from all over Mississippi are raising money to help our troops and their families this weekend.

More than 500 bikers left the Bancorp South Arena parking lot in Tupelo Saturday morning to take part in the 8th Annual Dixie Thunder Run. They, along with groups from Jackson and Biloxi, converged on Meridian to raise money for Operation First Response.

Organizers say they hope to raise at least as much as last year – about $20,000. They say the money comes from entry fees for the bikers to take part in the rally.
