BRUCE, Miss.(WCBI)–Bruce High School Juniors and Seniors are planning a very special prom for the end of the school year.

Now that schools in Calhoun County and Bruce are allowing students and parents to plan their Junior/Senior prom, all road from Bruce High School is leading to the Memphis Zoo, for a very special night of fun and entertainment.

“Something to make more memories for them instead of just doing something here locally. Get them out, get them to experience something different and take them off,” said Alison Tyler/Parent Volunteer Coordinator.

According to plans, chartered buses are expected to depart Bruce High School April 25th arriving at the Memphis Zoo just in time for an elegant catered sit-down dinner with music and a sea lion show in the beautiful Northwest Passage section of the zoo. Bruce High Junior Tristan Bailey has already picked out her prom dress.

“It is silver up here and it goes down into like a black poofy thing with sparkles everywhere,” said Tristan Bailey/Bruce High School.

“Its going to be like a really magical night. And we’ll feel special. I think its going to be a lot of fun,” said Taylor Hair/Bruce High Junior.

“We picked the Northwest Passage just because in my opinion it was the prettiest. It has the underwater room where you can watch the polar bears swim. It has several courtyards outside and the water gardens,” said Alison Tyler.

Surrounded by aqua blue waters and with majestic exotic animals everywhere, these prom goers are sure to have memories to treasure for years to come.

“I don’t know probably the bus ride up there because we’ll all be trying to, really excited to do it or maybe seeing the actual show, the polar bears and stuff too. I guess we just have to see,” said Cody Brower/Bruce High Senior.

“I think its going to be really fun. It is something different so we are going to be able to say we did something that other schools haven’t done in our communities,” said Kayde Coleman/Bruce High President.

Nominations for prom king and queen are soon to be conducted, there is expected to be a vote taken on their exciting ride to Memphis that night.
