WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) – There’s more than just reading going on at the Bryan Public Library this Summer. Besides getting to spend some quality time with good books, each week the participants in the Summer Reading Program are treated to a special guest.

The children have seen a Clown, a Magician, and a wildlife expert. Tuesday, it was our own Keith Gibson. He shared with the kids how weather systems form, severe weather safety, and what goes into creating and presenting a forecast.

Organizers say the Summer program pays dividends when the kids head back to class.
“To come to the library during the Summer, and read books, and work on their reading skills. And all the teachers love us when school starts back, because the children have read so many books, and expanded their vocabulary as well.”

The final guest scheduled for this Summer is a crowd favorite, The “Snake Man”.
