COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s out with the old and in with the new for a Columbus Air Force Base medical clinic.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today for the newly renovated Koritz Clinic.

The medical facility was built in 1959, and catered to inpatient care only. Now, the clinic will provide outpatient care for some 3,000 active duty patients and 5,000 military retirees.

14th Medical Group Commander Col. Allen Kidd said the completion of the medical facility will help raise morale on the base.

“It updates our facility,” Kidd said. “It allows us to function more efficiently. It’s a much nicer facility, and more conducive to what we do while serving a patient population.”

The clinic will be a one-stop-shop health care facility which will include all outpatient needs and a pharmacy.
