Video: Caledonia Couple That Sparked National Amber Alert Returned to Lowndes County

Columbus, Miss. (WCBI ) – The couple that sparked a nation-wide manhunt after an Amber Alert is in the Lowndes County Jail. Lowndes County deputies brought Donald Boyd Harris and Allison Studdard back from Georgia Friday evening. Investigators say they face drug charges here in Mississippi. Their two year old daughter Maliah Harris remains in he custody of the Georgia Department of Human Services.

The search for the duo began after deputies say they fled a Caledonia home after discovering their seven month old daughter died Wednesday morning, apparently of natural causes.

Here is what Donald Harris had to say as he was being escorted out of a  Sylvester, Georgia jail Friday afternoon.

“We loved that little girl. We Lost you.”

Georgia law enforcement officers say the couple had drugs in their SUV when they were stopped late Wednesday night.

They will have their initial appearance before a Justice Court judge in Lowndes County, Mississippi on Monday
