COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus Municipal School District is keeping in mind tomorrow morning’s freezing temperatures.

In light of the bitter temperatures anticipated for tomorrow morning, Superintendent Philip Hickman said officials are taking proper steps to ensuring kids remain as warm as possible.

The district says it will go so far as to provide clothing for students whose families are unable to afford effective winter clothing.

“Mainly just worried about on the bus stop,” Hickman said. “Our kids are waiting on the bus stop, so we want to make sure we talked to the bus company to make sure that the buses were there in a timely manner; that our kids are not waiting for a long period of time.”

Schools will also make sure classrooms are warm and cozy by the time students arrive.
