COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus’s new superintendent’s first board meeting brought some good news.  The school district underwent a financial audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, the findings of which were announced Monday. District Business Administrator Tammie McGarr said the district went mostly unscathed, but cited concerns about the financial accounting software that would later be adjusted. The board also accepted a $198,000 Mississippi Department of Education Robotics Engineering grant. The grant money will go toward funding new engineering courses for Columbus schools.
