COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Retailers have brought us another Thanksgiving Day tradition: Shopping.

Cars filled the Leigh Mall parking lot this evening.

Stores opened late this evening for shoppers looking to find a deal before Black Friday begins.

Several retailers, including J.C. Penny’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Best Buy, opened at 5 p.m. to give the big Thanksgiving Day meal time to settle before cutting prices in anticipation for one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

Belk opened its doors at 6 p.m.

A number of other stores will have more deals ready for early morning shoppers tomorrow.
