Video: Community Bank Sponsors Veteran’s Day Ceremony in Amory

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) — Hundreds of veterans were honored during a ceremony in Amory.

Community Bank sponsored the ceremony which was held at the National Guard Armory.

For years, veterans would gather on this day at a local restaurant, then at the bank, for a ceremony.

This is the first year the program has been held at the armory, and organizers say it was an opportunity to honor those who served and who continue to serve through the 155th Heavy Brigade Combat Team of the National Guard.

“We want to make this more of a partnership in years to come with the 155th and area veterans,” Community Bank President Brad Stevens said. “We think there needs to be a bridge gap between those two groups, and we want to support our 155th and the effect it has on our local economy as well.”

The Veteran’s Day ceremony featured U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) as the guest speaker.
