Video: Congested Hwy 9 in Bruce Could See Improvements

BRUCE, Miss. (WCBI) — One of the major traffic headaches in a Calhoun County town may soon get some relief.

The town of Bruce has received a $200,000 state grant, and may get as much as $250,000 more to add a turn lane to busy Hwy 9 at the entrance to Weyerhaeuser.

The stretch near the plant at the town’s southern entrance often is a bottleneck with log trucks entering and leaving the plant.

The city will have to match $10,000 for the project.

No word yet on when actual construction might begin.
