LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The consolidation of two schools leads to some principal shifts at Lowndes County schools.

West Lowndes Middle School Principal Cynthia McMath has been named principal at West Lowndes High School.

The middle schools and high schools are merging this fall, and still will have only about 200 students in grades 7-12.

Charles Jackson, former West Lowndes High School Principal, will lead Lowndes County’s new alternative school, which will operate in the West Lowndes Middle School building.
