CRAWFORD, Miss. (WCBI)-A Crawford woman is injured in a trailer fire this morning. Lowndes County volunteers got the call just after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday (11-13) morning. When they got to North Hotel Street, a trailer the was fully involved. Henry Lee Sharp pulled his wife from under the bed of their burning home. Betty Sharp was rushed to the hospital. No word yet on the extent of her injuries. She likely suffered smoke inhalation. Another woman, Christine Smith escaped the inferno by crawling through a window. At the scene an emotional Henry Lee Sharp told of what he experienced. “She was in there, and the fire department had to go in there…,” an inaudible Henry Sharp replied. A wood burning heater likely caused the blaze. The fire rekindled late Tuesday afternoon. Fire fighters quickly got the scene back under control.
