COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) Since 1986, James Fish and Seafood has served as a family owned and operated fish market. Located on Military Road in Columbus, Randy Basson and Kevin Poss have both had a hand in owning the market. Randy has taken over the shop, and even expanded to a new location on Idlewild Road.

Most of the catfish come from a farm in Noxubee County, and are kept in a water filled vat in the shop. Water temperature is maintained at 80 degrees, ensuring the freshest fish. Net in hand, it was time to go fishin’.

After being caught, his fate was sealed.With the proper knives, the majority of the fish is edible.

After stopping by the register, customers are equipped with everything they need for a summer fish fry. For the folks at James Fish and Seafood, providing the freshest fish in a friendly atmosphere in just one more day in the life.
