LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss.(WCBI) — East Mississippi Community College is preparing to give students in their Adult GED Program free practice testing.

Their big promotion, “Countdown To Launch,” is expected to draw some 100 students needing to be taken higher up the educational ladder on a trip upward. On the Golden Triangle Mayhew Campus, its an official kickoff at the Lowndes County launch pad. The official launch day is Monday, as EMCC offers a free deal on GED practice testing.

“That’s the opportunity for a second chance. And that’s what we are all about. We want to give that second chance. You know a lot of people have fallen through the cracks in education. But our goal is to pick them up,” said Jim Bearden, EMCC Launch Pad Director.
