Video: EMCC Honors Student and Local Veterans

Lowndes County, Miss. (WCBI) – In honor of “American Spirit Week”, EMCC hosed “Proud To Be An American Day”. Veterans from every branch of the military were honored for their service. The EMCC Choir performed a patriotic program.

Colonel Roger Johnson, Deputy Commander of the , deputy commander of the 155th Brigade of the Mississippi National Guard talked about the importance of honoring our military service members.

“At the end of the day, the country is 238 years old and we have to look back at what some of what the soldiers did for us so that we can enjoy some of these freedoms today and continue on that heritage and keep this nation free.”

Johnson also talked about the challenges of recruitment. He says despite low enlistment, our military is stronger than ever.
