TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) –  As she was setting up her company’s space in building Four,. of the furniture market complex,  Amy Adams was also answering questions from prospective buyers.

“We’re getting great feedback, a lot of people are coming in talking to us, so we’re very excited and the show hasn’t even started yet,” Adams said.

This is the first time that Adams’ company, Carolina Fairway Cushions, has exhibited at the Tupelo Market. The company makes easy-care replacement cushions and pillows for outdoor furniture.

Over the next few days, more than 10,000 exhibitors and buyers are expected to attend the 54th edition of the Tupelo Furniture Market. Buyers will be placing orders for their stores and those products are sold to consumers throughout the country and the world.

This is the third market for Okolona based J Henry Furniture.

“We are expecting a great turnout from buyers and dealers , we’ve already had several in this morning and anticipate being busy through Saturday anyway,” said Virgil Henry, of J Henry Furniture.

Henry says Tupelo is known as a place where orders are written, and that’s one thing that attracted newcomer “Chairs America” out of Hickory Flat, to this market.

“To get a feel for the area and to present the product and see what customer might be interested in.  What we have here we think is very good but we’re always opened to suggestions and other ideas,” said Barbara Holcomb, of Chairs America.

Also, all three vendors we talked with make their own products in this country. That is always a strong selling point in any economy. And the “Gift, Home and Accessories Show” is also taking place in Building One.  That is open to the public and it runs Thursday through Sunday, the same times as the Furniture Market.
